We love traveling by RV

We have spent a lot of time on the road. We love tent camping and sometimes car camping gets the job done. But our favorite is by far in an RV. Here are a few reasons why:

  • You can take the comforts of home with you - a down comforter on a bed, your favorite coffee maker, and a shower, to name a few - while still enjoying the great outdoors.

  • You have almost everything you need when you need it, from a fridge to store your leftovers to a bathroom when someone has just gotta go on your drive.

  • It makes camping with an infant or toddler easy… or at least easier. You can bring all of their many, many accessories and toys, and provide them with a bed that resembles home a bit more than a tent does.

Choosing the right RV for you

When it comes to choosing an RV, we love that more and more options are becoming available! From the classic Class C and Class A that you are probably used to seeing, to the #vanlife Class Bs and vintage VW’s, we want to make sure that you have the vehicle that is perfect for you.

Here are some options that may be available to you on your Pine Road trip, depending on your starting location.

Class C RV Camping Trip

Class C Motorhomes

A smaller type of motorhome, Class C’s are usually built on a truck chassis. They have the distinctive cab-over profile that you probably recognize. Many Class C’s offer amenities similar to Class As, like kitchens, bathrooms, and slideouts, but at a smaller size. The shorter length also means these RVs can go where larger ones can’t, like campsites and roads.

Class A Motorhomes

You’ve probably seen these on the road or parked in an RV campground. Class A motorhomes are constructed on a specially-designed motor vehicle chassis and are great for the full-time RVer. They are quite large and usually feel a bit more luxurious. But don’t let the size fool you. These can be very hard to drive and park, and many campgrounds don’t allow RVs over a certain length so you get limited with roads you can drive on or sites you can stay in.

Class B Motorhomes

Also known as camper vans or just vans, these motorhomes are great for the adventurous. They are nimble and drive like a standard automobile, so you can easily switch between camping and big-city adventures. Although short in length, the interior is smartly designed to make you feel like you have more space than you do. Amenities may include toilets and showers, small kitchens, and seats that convert into beds in minutes. Very popular among solo travelers and couples.
