Overview
Explore the best ski resorts in California on this week-long trip! Pick up your RV in Reno and make the short drive to Truckee, the perfect gateway to skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and more on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Two days here gives you the chance to ski at both Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, our two favorites in the area. Drive along the west shore, passing through Tahoe City and Emerald Bay, on your way to South Lake Tahoe. Ski the lake-front Heavenly resort, pop some coins in the slot machines, or snowmobile through wide open meadows. Continue your ski tour south to Mammoth Lakes, where you can relax in hot springs, wander this charming mountain town, and explore the runs at Mammoth Mountain. Return to Reno, drop off your RV and head home.
Tahoe & Mammoth Suggested RV Itinerary
Truckee - 2 nights
A charming, old railroad town set in the Sierras, this is the perfect gateway to the world-class West Tahoe ski resorts, like Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows. Spend two days skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
South Lake Tahoe - 2 nights
Drive along the west shore as you make your way to South Lake, where you can get all day lake views while you ski at Heavenly resort. Pop some coins in the slot machines or wander through snow-covered meadows.
Mammoth Lakes - 2 nights
Relax in the hot springs surrounding Mammoth Lakes to rest your legs before exploring the ski runs of Mammoth Mountain. When you’ve skied all you can, return to Reno to drop off your RV and head home.
