About Canyonlands National Park, Utah
Canyonlands National Park was carved out of the earth by wind and water into some of the most pristine red rock cliffs and canyons the world has to offer. Inhabited by various tribes of people for over 10,000 years, Canyonlands is full of petroglyphs from different periods in time. We love this park because it is compartmentalized into 3 different districts, Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Island in the Sky and the Needles are very easy to access, but the Maze is a remote zone for serious adventurers. Needles and Island in the Sky both contain scenic drives that are highly sought after, each making for a perfect day-long adventure with tons of viewpoint and short hikes.
Best time to visit:
Late-March through May and mid-September through mid-November
