Crater Lake National Park RV Vacation
About Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
Located in the Cascade Mountains in southern Oregon, Crater Lake National Park is home to Crater Lake, the deepest lake in America and one of the deepest in the world. Crater Lake was formed when a 12,000 foot volcano erupted and then collapsed around 7,700 years ago. The water comes directly from rain and snow, and is one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the world. You’ll be astounded at how blue it is! Enjoy the beauty of the lake, surrounded by 2,000 foot high cliffs, with hiking, swimming and cycling in the forested terrain or snowshoeing and skiing during the winter. The park is open year-round, but the winter months see a lot of snow (it’s actually one of the snowiest places in the US) and many of the roads and facilities close.
