Big Sur RV Vacation

Bixby Bridge Big Sur California RV Trip

About Big Sur, California

This rugged stretch of California’s central coastline is a California road trip staple. Follow Highway 1’s twists and turns, perched on a cliff that drops off into the Pacific Ocean below you. This drive is perfect for an RV. Once you make it to Big Sur, you’ll find not only secluded beaches and waterfront views, but it also extends inland several miles, casting you in overgrown trees and mist. Hikes will take you to coves with white sand beaches and bright blue water, or let the kids play in the Big Sur River while you relax on the shores, the smell of salt in the air.

Best time to visit:

April to October, but crowds die down come September
