About the McKenzie River Valley, Oregon

1,675,407 acres. That is how large the Willamette National Forest is. Kind of hard to comprehend, right? One good way to start is to explore a small section known as the McKenzie River Valley. Douglas firs tower overhead and rivers and waterfalls seem to appear at every turn. When you think of the Oregon wilderness that looks like fairy land, this is it. The McKenzie River drains from the Cascade Mountains and heads west towards Eugene. Trout fishing, hot springs, and hiking to waterfalls and a blue pool are abundant along your route.
